how it works: online bidding

To bid on any item, send an email to sonya@grubstreet.org stating the item(s) you want, your most current bid, and if you want, your guess as to who wrote it! The winning bidder will receive the postcard whether or not they're right or wrong. We will update the current bids for every item at 12pm and 5pm every weekday.

how it works: at the event

After online bidding closes, the highest current bid for each item will become the starting bid at the evening event. If you are the highest online bidder at that time, we will contact you to request your maximum bid. Should no other bidder at the event bid higher than your maximum bid, the item will be yours. Last year, 4 online bidders ended up winning their item. Bidders at the event may continue to bid in-person from exactly 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The highest bidder at closing time-- whether from online or in-person-- will win.
