Sponsor a Teen Writer

The YAWP Summer Teen Writing Fellowship immerses students age 13-18 in the writers’ life of creative craft and publishing. In 2008, the program was funded by a substantial grant, but this year, due to the economic downturn, the grant was not renewed. We are actively fundraising to make sure we can hold this fantastic summer session again. In order to run the YAWP Summer Teen Fellowship this year, we must raise $15,000 by June 1st. For $300, you can sponsor a teen writer, and can give them an enriching experience like you found in your Grub Street workshops and events: time to focus on their craft, to commune with other writers, and to take themselves seriously as emerging artists. Grub Street Rag Mag now online

On the last Monday of each month, we publish an excerpt of fiction, non-fiction or poetry in our weekly email newsletter. The full version of each piece is available on the site, and will be online for a full year after publication. Check out the first two published pieces: "Shelby, NC" by Rebecca Connors, and "New in the Neighborhood" by Monica Hileman!
